Fantastic provenance! it was given as a present to a steamboat captain for saving the passengers and crew when the boat wrecked. Included is the original letter from the passengers to the captain. The pot is inscribed the the names of the passengers. I also have a copy from an old newspaper describing the event.
Well marked.
Minor wear from age, minor scratched, marks and minor dents.
