Description
This exceptional antique Chinese silver tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl, with the original sugar tongs.
Each piece of this antique tea set has a circular rounded, compressed form onto a plain circular pedestal foot.
The surface of each piece is encircled with two fine and impressive embossed and chased decorated undulating, iconic Chinese dragon designs, accented with elevated applied whiskers; this indicates the high quality of each piece.
The teapot is fitted with the original domed hinged cover surmounted with a rounded silver finial.
The teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with exceptional C shaped handles, replicating a continuation of the dragon"s body and conjoining the decoration either side; this indicates the high quality of the service.
This exceptional Chinese silver teapot is fitted with a plain tapering spout.
The hallmarks struck to the rim of this impressive antique Chinese tea set include:

Character mark: YI AN 怡安 (a Shanghai artisan workshop)

Condition
This antique Chinese tea set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The interior of the service has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.
The Chinese hallmarks to the underside of each piece are very clear.
