Antique c1928 OLIVE GREEN DOMINION GLASS CASE GIN BOTTLE.
Weighing nearly 2 pounds and standing 10 1/2” tall to the top of its hand tooled and applied lip, the base is 3" square and the pontil is marked with the D in a diamond. This mark was used by Dominion Glass Company based in Pointe Ste Charles (Montreal), Quebec, Canada.
Since serving in the Army during the Vietnam Era, I have dedicated myself to emptying gin bottles and although I have preferred the blue tinted ones for the last several decades, I've always been fascinated by these really old gin bottles. As shown, the bottle is in excellent antique condition with no cracks or other defects to the glass although the cork did break off after I took the initial photo.
I recently purchased a small collection of antique gin bottles so please watch my listings both of more of these as well as an interesting (I hope) and eclectic selection of other vintage and antique items.
